“Swim spas are the latest and greatest home improvement everyone’s looking for,” said Jim. “It’s an alternative to a swimming pool; it’s more cost effective, and we can install them quickly. People use them for everything: exercise, water aerobics, as pools to swim in, as hot tubs.”

Recently, Jim and his team have been installing heat pumps with the swim spas, providing more flexibility in temperature control.

“We usually care more about cooling the water in the tub than heating it, so we’re able to put reverse cycle heat pumps on the tubs to chill the water. There’s been a huge rise in heat pump sales lately,” said Jim.

Aqua Paradise’s tagline is: “A pool in a day? No way!” meaning that a client can have a swim spa fully installed in one day. However, Jim said, the typical “swim spa journey” is six months, from the time a client enters the Aqua Paradise showroom to the day the swim spa is installed.

“We spend a lot of time educating our clients,” said Jim. “When they come in the showroom, we’ll let them use it, try it. From there, we recommend concrete companies and electricians. We guide them through all the steps and help them with the process. Then we go on site and plan the design, making sure they have room and that it’s the right fit. We don’t just sell it. We want to make sure it’s the right thing for them.”
